Description[edit]

Gallim'gaal is one of the smaller Islands. It has a surface area of just over 50,000 square miles (293 miles long; 170 miles wide at the extremes). Seventy seven miles from the Edge where the pulon rests in Rogue's Arch, the Island has a crease or bend called the Twilight Fold. Here the Island tilts in such a manner that it's rotation keeps everything south of the Fold, including Rogue's Arch, in perpetual twilight. The rest of the Island rotates normally with typical day-night cycles.

The Island is a large warren of hills, tunnels, and ramshackle housing all made of trash. There is a stink about the place that takes great effort to remove from individuals once they have been there so most avoid the Island. In the center is the Murkwater Sea, a shallow, broad body of water that is mostly swamp. Only the hydromancers and other locals can navigate it with any consistency. At the center of the Murkwater is a small plateau on which sits the modest Ulchistein estate.

Society[edit]

Gallim’gaal is considered the most worthless of Loar’s Islands. It has little in the way of government and is a refuge for all manner of criminals, rogues, and low-lifes. The rest of Loar send their waste here where the denizens of the Island scrounge through and repair, recycle, and resell cheap, used items. Life is as cheap as the merchandise and not worth anything close to the black market goods bought and sold there. It’s people are independent, rugged, and merciless but operate on a specific code that it takes years to learn.
